Contracts

A contract turns a conversation into something written down. You draft the terms in the DM where you agreed them, the other person signs, and you both keep a PDF.

Making one

Open the conversation with the person you're working with and start a contract from the message box.
Give it a title (5–100 characters) and write the terms (20–5000 characters).
Sign it by typing your name.
It appears as a card in the chat. The other person reads it and signs the same way.

After both signatures

The contract locks and a PDF is generated with both names, the full terms, and the date each person signed. Either of you can download it. It also gets a verification link, so you can show the signed agreement to someone who isn't on verses.lol without giving them your account.

Changing your mind

While a contract is still pending, either side can void it. Nothing is binding until both signatures are on it.
Once both people have signed, it can't be edited or voided — that's the point of it. Write a new one if the terms change.

How many you get

Free and trial — 3 contracts a month.
Premium — unlimited.

What to put in the terms

Write what you actually agreed, in plain language. The things people most often wish they had written down:

Who delivers what, and by when.
Payment — how much, and when it's due.
Splits, if the work is a release. Percentages, and on what.
Credit — the exact name each person is credited as.
What happens if someone walks away.

Tip: Write the contract while the details are fresh, right after you agree them in the DM. The terms are easiest to get right when both people still remember the conversation the same way.

This is a record, not legal advice

A verses.lol contract documents what two people agreed and when they agreed it. It isn't drafted or reviewed by a lawyer, and verses.lol isn't a party to it — we don't mediate disputes, enforce terms, or handle payments. For anything with significant money or rights attached, get it reviewed by someone qualified in your country.

Can I use one outside a DM?

No. A contract belongs to the conversation between the two people signing it, which is also what proves who agreed to what.

Can I edit the terms after sending?

No. Void it while it's still pending and send a new one — that way the version someone signed is always the version they read.

Does the other person need Premium?

No. Signing is free for everyone. The monthly limit only applies to creating them.

Can someone see my contract from the verification link?

They see the signed agreement — the title, terms, names, and dates. They don't get access to your account or the conversation it came from.
