The Artist Directory

• Name and handle — with a Premium mark beside the name where there is one.
• A status dot — green while they're on verses.lol right now. No Discord needed; it works for every account.
• Last seen — when they were last here, shown only while they're offline. Nothing shows for anyone we haven't seen yet.
• Spotify — the verified mark for any verified artist, and their monthly listener count if they're showing it.
• Genres — the first three they list.
• OPEN TO COLLAB — they have an active collab listing posted in the last 14 days.

Every card has a “…”button in its top corner. It saves opening someone's profile to do one thing:

• Message — opens your conversation with them, or starts one. Needs an account.
• Copy link — puts their profile URL on your clipboard.
• Report — the same report form as everywhere else. Anyone can open it; sending one needs an account.
• Block — neither of you can start a conversation with the other after that, and any thread you already have closes for both of you. The history stays readable on both sides; nothing is deleted. Needs an account.

A blocked artist keeps their card and stays clickable — blocking is not a content filter — but the card dims and carries a BLOCKED mark, and Message drops out of the menu. Unblock is in that same menu, on their profile, or in Settings → Account → Blocked, which lists everyone you've blocked in one place.

• Genre — pick as many as you want; an artist matches if they carry any one of them. The list is built from the genres artists actually use, commonest first.
• Verified — Spotify-verified artists only.
• Online now — on the site this second.
• Open to collab — the pill above, as a filter.
• Premium — Premium members only.

Search matches display name, username and genre. Everything filters instantly — the grid is already loaded, so nothing reloads while you narrow it down.

An artist can switch the chips off their card and keep the tags (Settings → Public Profile → Identity). Those artists still match the genre filter, the genre search and the counts in this list — you just won't see the tag written on the card that comes back.

• Newest — most recently joined first. The default.
• Most listeners — by Spotify monthly listeners.
• Recently active — everyone online now, then everyone else by when they were last here.

Premium members sort above everyone else in all three. It's a tier break rather than a separate row: inside each half, whichever sort you picked still applies.

Nothing here is a ranking you can game. It's five things, and you control all of them:

• List your genres. No genres means you never match a genre filter and never match a genre search. If you want the tags without the chips, switch them off in Settings rather than clearing the field — hiding them costs you nothing here, clearing them costs you every genre match you had.
• Post a collab listing. That's the whole of the OPEN TO COLLAB pill, and it expires — see Collabs & Listings.
• Leave Online status on. It's on by default, in Settings under Public Profile → Identity → Visibility. Off means no dot, no last seen, and you never match “Online now”.
• Verify Spotify. It's a filter people use — see Spotify Verification.
• Set an avatar and a display name. A card is mostly a face and a name.

Suspended accounts, and accounts that never claimed a username. Everyone else is in the directory. There is no opting out and no separate listing to create — having an account is what puts you there.
